Best headphone for electro

How important is bass volume/impact to you (are you willing to sacrifice it for better speed, detail, clarity, and instrument separation?)? Is there any specific kind of sound that you like?

Many thanks.

The Beyerdynamic DT 770's are a great phone for Elect. $100 US or lower used, I primarily use mine for Ambient Space, Goa Psych trance and the like. Very low Bass, very tight at the bottom. Once you get away from electronic they have their shortcomings. But probably their best point is that they are Darth Beyer donors.

If you can stretch your budget a bit, have you considered a used pair of DT990s (yes, I'm currently selling a pair of DT990s, but I honestly think they're the way to go for someone who wants bass-heavy headphones for electronica)? If you have no plans to get a dedicated amplifier, look for the 32 ohm version.

I agree with Azure, DT-990 is a good choice, but you will need a good amp for them unless they're the 32 ohm ones.
