Hi..
i need a headphones which excel in sound quality and im not a audiophile or techie to put forth my expectation properly.my needs are non fatiguing with better instrument separation with great details, soundstage and imaging.i dont want a boom boom bass. Need a controlled tight bass with great mids and highs. So far shortlisted (first 1 being the cheapest). i prefer all type of genres

sennheiser HD449-------------> (Rs. 4250)
BeyerdynamicsDTX910------> (Rs.4600)
Denon AH D340-------------------> (Rs.5000)(i think its a costly model which is in sale now)
Shure srh440----------------------> (Rs.6100)
sennheiser HD 280 pro -------->(Rs6200)

Note: I dont have any separate budget to buy amp so it should be capable of performing straight off from my Macbook air

  Have you considered the Grado SR80i or SR80e?

No grado SR80i (Rs. 8200) is too costly for my budget
  KOSS pro Dj 100/200 TBSE

koss pro dj 100 is priced little higher than Denon AHD 340..

so which one should i go for?
Senn hd 449 or denon AHD340 or koss??
I have my eyes slightly on denon since it was sold for 300$  sometime b4..what say guys?

Any chance the Takstar Pro 80 (Gemini HSR-1000) is sold in your area?

Those Denons are quite good, if you can live with them being on ear. The highs are OK, forward mids and bass isn't overpowering, it's tight and punchy but not bloated. They're the best headphone of those listed. A steal at that price

The highs are similar on Denon and Senn, they are both non fatiguing but slightly muted, the Denon has better extension and more presence. I didn't like the 449 and preferred the 439. Mostly due to the Velour pads. The soundstage is great for an on ear on the Denon, but 449 has better depth. Imaging is comparable on both. 449 is good for its price but I do think the Denon is better in mostly all areas.

oh now u added one more o my thought.. so far from what i read CAL! has prominent bass than mids highs so i didnt consider it.

Now i ve Shure srh440, HD449, D340 and UE6000 in my list
but i read that UE6000 has NC which may be like adding unwanted complications..Moreover Shure srh440 and UE6000 has been reported with lot of build quality issues..

Pls put ur thoughts in some comparative analysis..how denon shines in highs??

Can't speak directly to the D340s...have the D600s though and love them.

The UE6000s are nice as well and less expensive...sound better without the NC engaged.

Never heard the Shures or the Senns
