Found a website where a reviewer said the HD600/325/HD570/HD590 sounded better then the F1's but added..
 
In fact, for movie watching or listening to binaural recordings, I would probably rate these as the best of the batch. And for those of you who don’t like the inside of the head effect headphones can be sometimes accused of, the Sony’s would also likely be you first choice.
 
Replace movie watching for FPSers.. The listed price was 225.00..

I would pick one if they were not so expensive.It would be perfect set for gaming while my wife watches tv

As it seems to be very good compared to some top of the line sennheisers, and still have that open design which lets me hear my wife easily if she talks to me.

I think he meant that as movie watchers woube need the same as First person shooters players. so those would be great for gaming

The only comparison I saw in this thread is vs the AD-700.  The fact that the AD-700 ($90) is compared to a much more expensive MDR-F1 ($400) headphone shows the VALUE that the AD-700 holds.
 
I would like to see a comparison of the Sony unit vs similarly priced headphones.  Such as the DT-880/990 600 ohms, K701,  (which actually cost significantly less) Sennheiser HD 600/650.
 
As far as holding value, many good headphones hold their value really well.  There is also the fact of name recognition.  Some people buy Sony just because it's Sony (not that I can blame them sometimes).
 
It is easy to get caught up in the new product of a thread that others have not heard before; however, I wouldn't not get overly excited until more information has been collected and sifted through.  Besides $400 is a lot to spend on an item you have never heard before and may or may not like.  Do you know if it requires amplification?  If it does add more money invested...
