Best Electronic type music headphones under $200 that dont need amp

I really like my T50RP's for this. Nice bottom end bloom and enough detail to pick apart snappy electronic tones, clicks, pops, etc. They could use an amp, but you can get away w/o one, imo. They're well under your limit after modification, though, so it might be enough to buy a headamp in the used market on the cheap, or even an old receiver from Goodwill, a garage sale, what have you.

M-Audio Q40 would do you some justice.

Other headphones of interest: Shure SRH750, Beyer DT770, Panasonic HTF600, Sony XB500/700, Ultrasone HFI 780, used Denon D2000.

The T50RP has weak sub-bass, weird mid-bass, lots of mids, and damp treble. Hardly something to use without extensive modding for any genre, frankly, especially electronic.

Very best,

I'd echo the M-Audio Q40, though with an Ultrasone I'd go with the HFI-580 is you want giant bass. If you want your bass more qualitative than quantitative, go HFI-780.

I have a pair of Denon D950's that sound great with electronic and don't need amping at all. They're sort of a rare headphone because they're discontinued but if you can find someone with a pair to sell you could prolly pick em up for around $100.

If you can spend a bit and buy the PRO 750 it would be great.
