Best current or upcoming under-$700 (preferably under-$500) DAP without all kinds of extra functionality?

So, I've been wondering something.  By the beginning of next year, I'd like to upgrade my source to something better than my current Fiio X3 2nd Gen (don't get me long, I do love the X3ii though!) and am considering things like the upcoming Fiio X7 or the upcoming Onkyo DP-X1.  However, I feel like if I got players like those, I'd be getting all kinds of functionality that I don't need. . .I have no need or desire for bluetooth, wi-fi functionality, or any of that other stuff that starts to make a DAP function more and more like a smartphone that simply happens to have a good DAC and amp.  So, what would be the absolute BEST-SOUNDING player, preferably under $500 but possibly as high as 700 (but I'd REALLY like to try to keep it under 500) which actually has a decent user-interface without glitches and where I wouldn't be paying for all kinds of extra smartphone-like features that I couldn't care less about?

So, was the Questyle QP1R the answer?

I'm looking for the same ordeal, only difference is that I have don't want to pay that much. I'm fairly certain the Ibasso DX120 is what I'll end up with. I prefer simplicity, and the UI seems pretty straightforward and clean
