There are some different devices and methods that allow you to play a proper tube guitar amp through headphones instead of the guitar speaker (the Mesa Boogie cabclone being one example), most of them have some type of speaker emulation. The question is, is it best to go for a pair of monitor type headphones that have a flat response, or a pair of headphones that have a midrange hump like that of a guitar speaker? I'm very curious to hear the different opinions on what people think is the best/correct approach here
