I am looking for the most comfortable IEMs + flange/foams for under $160. Second priority would be the sound quality...
I am thinking about the ER-6i, would they be a good choice? I read somewhere that their triple flangs are too long and cause pain....

Kuba.

I agree about the Atrio, I have the similar FS1 model and I use them with the Shure olive foams, they can sit in my ear for HOURS without discomfort, and the sound is just the best, probably even better with the Atrio given the upgraded driver!!!

Yeah I was thinking about the combination of ER-6i with the Shure olive foamies.
Would the Atrio give me better comfort or sq than the ER-6i?
I found out they cost EUR140 here in the EU, so they are little over my budget...

I will be using them without an amp with a nano 3g, listening mostly to rock/pop.

Are the WestOne's THAT confortable. They look kind of bulky.

I'm strongly considering the UM1's since reading so much good things about them the past couple says.

I swear, during the past week I changed my mind at least five times thinking I found "the pair". Super.fi 5's... then q-jays... CX300... er6i... now UM1's.

What price should I watch for, for the UM1s? So far it seems like they're a solid $109 everywhere (even eBay).

yeah, um1's can only basically be found for $109-110, check www.earphonesolutions.com i think they might still have a discount coupon going on. Also, I don't have personal experience with the UM1's, but everywhere I read, they're supposedly the cream of the crop as far as comfort goes.

Only problem with UM1s is the sound sig, which to me was dull, dull, dull. Not a sparkle, just an overly warm sound, which I didn't like. And I didn't like the mandatory over the ear fit either. I like to have a choice on how to wear them.

My ears are very sensitive to pain, and I still struggle to find comfort with my ety's. I'll try the small Shure Olives and if that fails, the only in-ear solution seems to be ear molds. Do they work with er6i?

The stock tri-flanges are too long, small bi-flanges have the right length to go deep into my ear canals but the seal is not perfect; and the stock foamies have too big a diameter plus the length, so the pressure's more than I can bear. The only comfortable tips I have had are the small ones bundled with the ATH-CK32s which I gave away. They don't block out that much noise anyway.
