Really glad you went for the Beyers!  I'll be joining you listening to some Beethoven on mine right now.  Also the new motets by the Bach family (by Vox Luminis)....

Vox Luminis recorded motets by Bach's ancestors....
It's on Spotify now...

An update: I'm now the proud owner of the a pair of Beyerdynamic DT-770/32 ohms.  Love them.

So, you're saying you don't find the reportedly strident highs on the DT 770 troublesome? Doesn't it bother you when listening at high volumes?

DT 770 shares the same driver with DT 990 (notorious for shrill treble) and I wonder if 770 has some of that problem. This kind of treble creates fatigue when one is exposed to it for prolong period of time.

Do you own DT990?

Do you own DT990?

Had it for a year, gave it to my sister once my HD600 arrived. The orchestral violins sounded too thin, the sound was generally very harsh in the highs. Even tried it with warmer amps and it was still not to my taste. Great headphone otherwise. Just highs I couldn't deal with any more. At low volumes, they were OK. Moderately loud, they started creating fatigue. Had to give it away.

I haven't noticed a problem, but perhaps I don't listen to my my music so loud. There might be better cans, but so far I like mine a lot.

How does DT 880 (32Ohm) compare to DT 660 for classical? Has anyone tried both? Right now 880 costs about 100 bucks more, I wonder if it's worth going here. Thx!!

The famous Battle of the Flagship thread has an in-depth analysis of the DT 660 and DT 880, but it was the 600 Ohm DT 880 which measures better than the 32 Ohm one, so take it with a grain of salt.  Still worth a read though.
