Looking for closed back recommendations for mixing / monitoring / studio use. Currently use Focal Listen Pro's and Spirit Pro's (on my 3rd pair), really love the Focal sound but curious what else people are using, and what new stuff is worth checking out. I need to be able to use it without an amp, (straight out of my audio interface) and it needs to be fairly flat, or at least close enough for critical listening, no hyped frequencies or boomy bass / mid scoop. Budget up to around £1K but I don't think I need to spend quite that much, open to suggestions. Thanks

Thanks for the suggestions, both look great. I'm reading mixed reviews about the NDH20's, but it seems like they need a bit of time to burn in until they reveal their true character. The Hi-X55's have great reviews so far, although the SOS review says they're 'scooped' which could be a problem. Which would you choose from the two?

How do these sound compared with Ollo Audio's S4s? I had these, but they were too dark for my taste. I have seen a review on YouTube which compares the Neumanns with Ultrasones Signature Pro. The latter I own and love.

Rode NTH100 is my recommendation. Akg 872 used market is about 1k if you want to splurge.
