I decided to buy my headphones Thursday and I still do not know where I am going to choose. There are too many headphones, and I really do not know which would be my business.

My budget is $ 200 a set. I do not want to exceed that amount

This is my first occupation:

Listen to music (hip-hop, R & B, Techno)

I am looking for excellent sound quality and comfortable headphones.

I had in mind for the moment the ATH ES7, Grado S-80

My choice is not yet done. Maybe there is still better headphones than those

Well I don't really listen to any of the music you listed but I can say this. The SR-80's will not work well with the music you listed. Can you give us some more information about what it is your looking for in a headphone.

1. Are you looking for closed or open headphones?

2. Do they need to be portable?

3. What is your source? A iPod, your computer?

4. Will you be using an amp? Do you even know what a headphone amp is?

5. Are you a bass-head?

1. Closed, because I do not want to hear another sound

2. What do you mean by portable?

3. Only Computer

4. I do not know what it is

5. I do not understand too

Sorry, I am really beginning in headsets.

By portable I meant, will you be going outside with an iPod using the headphones.

Will you be using them for gaming on your computer?

Either way If I were you I would be looking into these headphones.

Denon AH-D1000
Audio Technica ATH-A900

and if you can stretch your budget by about another 40.00

Ultrasone HFI-780

I own ES7's and as much as I love them, I don't think they would be that good at Hip Hop. R&B they would do fine and probaly pretty good at Techno based on comments made by other owners. I myself don't listen to Techno.

I don't think you can find any NEW ATH-A900 below $200. (or can you?)

but they can always be found under 200 bucks for a used pair. great all around phones, also closed back, in case you don't want sound to leak out.

I live in the Montreal area in Canada and I would like to know if there are headphones which seem interesting in the batch

MOOG AUDIO

Nothing too exciting at Moog, you're probably better off ordering from a website like Audiocubes. I'd say the A700 is definitely better than the ES7, but the ES7 is a better choice if you want to use them for walking around-- the A700 is huge. If I were in your position, I would also consider the excellent JVC M1000.
