Now that I have that Airhead coming soon from Touring1, I need a portable cd player. I have no intentions what so ever of listening to MP3s so that is not an issue. What are my options in lets say the $65 < range. I will probraly buy a pair of Porta Pros soon if that helps at all. Thanks.

We need some more information. Are you planning on using an amplifier or not? Is battery life important to you? Can you buy used?

You might want to try to find a Panasonic CT570 used, that might fit in your price range.

try the pawn shops for an old sony. you can audition them and and make a judgement on the condition. thats where I got my D-303 and D-33 and they work fine.
BTW I never spent more than $25 I got the D-33 for $10.

Consider those particular old Sonys merely "transportable", not truly portable (since they lack any anti-skip at all whatsoever). Forget about them if you're planning to listen to a CD while walking even slowly, especially if you must have both hands free and your PCDP sits inside a case that dangles from your shoulder or waist.

I used to own a D-33, which skipped annoyingly and often during a slow walk. It's best left sitting stationary on a sturdy tabletop or countertop. And if you have to use a PCDP that way just to minimize skipping, you're WAY better off with a full-sized home CDP.

Or maybe the Panasonic SLSX270, they seem to be fairly abundant on ebay.

Fuggittabout both the SP90 and the SL-SX270. Both of those have noisy (read: hissing) headphone-outs (from what I've read on other sites).
