Hi all. I am sorry if this subject has been brought up before (and i am sure it has) but i don't hang out in this forum often so bare with me.
anyway,I once had the shure se530 and 420 and the thing is, the sound was good, especially of the se530,but i just couldn't insert them right and was really suffering from the whole process of this. I also couldn't hold them in my ears while walking in the street, they just kept moving and falling off all the time. I needed to stop every few minutes to insert them back and check if i have a good seal.
so,I retired to earbuds which is a really great solution for me...confortable,not moving while i am on the go,and sound great...I am talking of my beloved PK2's. BUT,they don't isolate at all. so I tolarated this for a while but then relised that the loud noises on the city street can be very disturbing and ruin the whole enjoyinment.

ok..this is the thing,I have a few bucks to spend,I say 80-85$ top and I also got myself a new sansa clip+ which i thing is truly amazing sounding (also bought based on head-fi reviews...thank you!

) and I am considering to give IEM's one more try. and I need the best in ears in my price range i can get. I want the best "bang for the $$$" here guys...need your help choosing!
I also would be very happy if they can fit well and have a vary of eartips i could use, because my ears are very problematic regarding fit (or maybe i don't know how to use IEM's).
I want to say that i look at headroom every once in a while, and i read some reviews over there about the Maximo iMetal iM590 and its got a very good rating and reviews over there. what do you think?

They may not suit your musical tastes but certainly have a look at the Head-Direct RE0.
There is a lot of info on here about them and for their current sale price of $79 USD they seem to be a steal.

I just read some review on the RE0 and they indeed catch a lot of attention here and have great coments about them. now it is the RE0 against im-590.
the only thing that bothers me about the REO is that some people said that they are rather "Shy" in the bass separtment. I don't want too boomy or too overwhelming bass "(A-LA DENON...) but I do want it to be full, punchy, and fun. which of the two (RE0, im-590) have more of that?

well for punchy and fun, the 590 are probably nearer what you want

thanks...that's the conclusion i got also. I just don't want to compromise on the other frequencies as well. it seems that people here actually compare the RE0 to the SE530 which is amazing because of the price differences between them, and the im-590 is ranked much below them.

the 590 is good across the board but it doesnt have the super clarity the RE-0 has. it really is up there with the 530 but it is light on bass for many. the 590 feels much more even.

thanks, this really helps me. I think i will grab the im-590 as they are probably more to my liking...more fun (D5000 like),less analytical (HD600 like). and as i am listening to my D5000 right now, i can't imagine listening to metal/electronica without secent bass.
I just hope I won't have problems again with the fit issue. I need a private teacher for inserting IEM's LOL.

Shure e2cs. about 59-69 dollars. Do the kramer mod.

I also vote for the IM-590-I couldn't get a decent seal with lots of other IEM's,but these
stayed in my ears, and have really decent isolation. I used them with SONY hybrid tips,
and they are really comfortable. Don't be disappointed when you first hear them as I was.
It took a while for them to open up and sound right, and for the bass to come out-so let them cook (burn in) for a while.

Hi, I have one more question regarding the im590. just for my reference, can anybody who heard both the im590 and the yuin pk2/pk1 can comment if the im590 will sound better than the yuin earbuds?

Get the RE0s, put Rockbox on your Clip+, and set the EQ to on, low-shelf filter cutoff freq to 90Hz, and gain to +12.0dB. Then you'll have RE0s that have a crapload of bass. Worked for me. You could get the S4's, but they're really a step down, IMO (I've got RE0s and S4s).

You might have a crapload of bass but is it distorting?

The IM-590 isn't even close to the SE530.
