Audio technica WS55 (if you want solid mid-bass that is, my music doesn't really have much subbass)

Can't speak for many headphones, but I own a pair of Denon AH-D 5000's and they have some pretty slammin bass. They are a bit out of your price range but if you could make a stretch I wholeheartedly recommend them.

Out of the headphones listed, I've only tried the DT770's and own the ATH-M50's. The DT770's have killer bass and The ATH-M50's have accurate bass in my opinion.

wheres the xb500/700/1000 choice? although the xb1000 has that "detailed" bass instead of what bassheads are really looking for.

LCD-2 r2 with eq,  cmon nothing wrong with eq; these headphones handle eq great (high power/bass handling).

Sure, if you want to go over 7 times their budget getting them headphones + proper amp + proper source and then EQ the bass way up on the $2000+ set-up to make them sound like a $500 pair of headphones, then great.
