Closest contenders I can think of are Focal Elear and Audeze LCD2 Classic - which seem similar in quality to me.

Is there anything on the market that offers more extension, and, particularly - impact?

Used Hifiman HE-400 or HE-500 are among the ones with great bass extensions based on multiple articles I've read. Personally have the HE-500 and they can extend pretty low when needed with great quality as well.

I think the Philips X2 are also known for good bass impact, but extension I'm not so sure and you may need to read up on it.

Bass-head means too much bass to me. But the Philips Fidelio X2 might have the bass you like. A more costly option is the Klipsch Heritage HP3.

I wonder how the LCD2C compares to the Audeze Mobius. They both have 100 mm planarmagnetic drivers.

Mobius have good bass but they cannot match the bass quantity and quality of LCD2C.
I had the LCD2C for a few months but sold them due the weight but thinking of getting them back as I love the bass and none of the headphones in $1000 seem to match the bass of LCD2C.

Mobius have good bass but they only have single sided magnet array and cannot match the bass quantity and quality of LCD2C (dual sided magnet).
I had the LCD2C for a few months but sold them due the weight but thinking of getting them back as I love the bass and none of the headphones in $1000 seem to match the bass of LCD2C.

I'm not sure. The Amazon listing for the Mobius says "Double-sided magnet arrays delivers a uniform driving force across the entire diaphragm for near zero distortion. "
