NuForce uDAC -> Indeed Hybrid amp with a sylvania 7308 tube inline with the k701

SERIOUS bang for the buck you can get all pieces for as low as $450 and it sounds great if you are committed to the k701 (the steal for the buck can). It has a great synergy.

Definitely put this on a short list to give it a try.

Ugh, for that money you can do WAY better than the K702 with a LD amp. Try the Stax SR-005a or 2050II systems. They will blow away most things in the price range, and if you want to go vintage, you can get even better deals.

Stax 2050II used - $400ish
Rega Planet 2000 - $300ish
Any generic interconnects will do to start.

That would be another $260 for the K701 (Amazon), i.e., now a total of $960. Check out the other considered options and quoted prices.

Lmao when I saw "Best Bang For Buck Set-Ups" I thought you meant bang for buck, not spending $1300 on equipment lol. The words AKG and Sennheiser really shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentance as "bang for buck"

They have some of the most difficult headphones to drive properley.

I was pretty much thinking the same thing. I thought someone would have mentioned something like a Sansa Clip along with a Koss KSC75 by now. That's what really can be considered bang for the buck
