Hi MrSiki99,

I would suggest a cha47 w/ad8620's, TLE2426 rail splitter and 2x9v batteries. The ad8620 will add a bit more to the cost, but is worth it, IMO. I have used a similar config. with my hd 280. PM JMT and see what he can do for you.

I just got my Super Mini V3 today and it works well with my Sennheiser HD-280s. I haven't burned in the amp yet, but I'm pleased with the results thus far

JGene have you tried any other amps with the 280's? Mine are on the way, and I will be building a Cmoy for starters, nut was wondering how other amps sounds on these cans.

I'll be building a CMoy soon and will be pairing it with my 280's, can't wait for them to get here (Note: Don't use the Free Shipping option on Amazon unless you REALLY don't care when stuff gets to you).

I ordered the HD280s off Amazon and used the free shippping option - it took about 2 and a half weeks to process, a week to deliver. You gotta wait so long

I ordered mine back in the middle of October and only got them a week ago...

Yikes, well it's looking like mine will be getting here tommorow or Friday. The downside of UPS tracking is I tend to watch it obsessively!

Next time I'll suck it up and pay shipping. The 280's are for work, next I save up for some nice phones for home (perhaps something open...looking at Senn 580/600 , depends if I like the "Senn sound" with the 280's)

The Sennheiser 280s sound pretty good, but it is critical that you burn them in first. The highs are all over the place for the first 20 hours during burn in. After 30 hours, the highs start to level out. At 50 hours, the bass becomes very apparent. At 100 hours, they just sound wonderful

They sound even better with an amp

Yeah, I plan an using them at work during the day, and hooking them to a CD player at night (something with plenty of highs and lows). Should get them into shape in short order.

Once I build my cmoy, will start looking into other headphone amps as well.

My HD280's arrived today, now to break them in. Using them sans headphone amp for now.
