Combining the collective wisdom of some recent threads, I'd disbelieve the hype and pick me up a Playstation 1 (unmodded) a set of HD485s, any old garage-sale amp that has a headphone jack and a roll-your-own IC based on the power cord from that long-dead refrigerator rusting in your yard. Then spend the rest of the million bux on low-rez MP3s.

Or follow the advice of several here and find a top-class dealer who can look at your home, budget, musical tastes and other preferences and help you to assemble and install a system that will be excellent-sounding, flexible, in tune with your needs and provide years of listening/viewing pleasure. Then spread the love a little and run an L3000 giveaway thread on headfi.

Have B&W make you a custom pair of Nautilus with the new diamond tweeter, run dual quads of Electrocompanient Nemo monoblocks and wire together with Shunyata, Jena, Nordost, etc... stupid expensive cabling.
