Based on a short, comparative listens at the Headroom Tour:

Grado RA-1 with Grado RS series
EAR V20 with AKG 1000
and obviously, the Orpheus and Stax systems.

I think most OTL amps match up great with the HD-600s. But, if you like the HD-600s sound with a faster pace I would definitely buy a Headroom Max without a doubt.
