What would you say is the best amp under 450 dollars to pair with an HD 650? The X-Can V3 looks like a viable option, but I haven't found a place yet that sells it; new or used. I'll be using the amp mainly at home, but if for some reason there's an amazing portable that you can recommend, that's fine too.

Indeed, the Canamp is definitly one of the better pieces of audio equipment out there, though it might be pushing my budget a little bit... I'll leave it on my short list, of course, but how about a Woo Audio 3?

As you can tell from the many posts on the XCAN v3... it is an exceptional amp with Senns, as well as Grados. But, it is especially good with Senns, because it has the power to control their drivers, and it brightens their sound - which they need.

The Woo Audio 3, with the right tubes, is also exceptional with Senns, but not Grados - one of the best with the Senns.

I'm sure there are others, which are good also, such as the BADA PH12, and the Heed CanAmp. But... I've seen some comments, which suggest the CanAmp, may have a somewhat rolled off treble... which is great with Grados, but would not be so great with Senns (if true), which need a brighter top end.

Ok, I'm leaning towards the X-Cans V3, but does anyone know a place that I could find it? An auction site, something?

I second the V3. I have the 600's with it and the only thing that sounded better was $2500 more!!

I've been using a Modded V3 that I got for $300. and my new HD600 and I could not ask for more!

Further more the friend that told me about this site is dumping his PPX Slam and going with a modded V3 as well! He's been into headphones longer than I and if he tells me the V3 is that good, thats good enough for me.

Nice. I'm sure if I shop around I can find a better deal, but its good to know there's a backup plan.

The Heed is 340.00 for Headfiers & the Xcan is over 400.00 new.. By all accounts the Heed is better in everyway compared to the stock Xcan3.. Many Xcan3 owners admit this..

Yes the Heed is better.

Heed = Fotm...

If you really want to listen to a Heed CanAmp, I'd wait a little bit. A few should be going up for sale some time soon. Either that, or go to a meet. Before going, you might want to check some sort of listing to make sure one will make an appearance.
