Hello all, this is my first post after lurking here for several months.
Right now i am using an old sony tape deck as hp amp, and compared to several other jacks from newer equipment i have doesn't sound too bad at all.
Still i'm sure i can get a good improvement by using a dedicated amp for my grado 125's.
I am willing to spend up to 1000 $ max, and am looking for something that will reduce the bright nature of my cans yet has good detail and above all sounds lively.
Also i'm planning to go RS-1 after a few months from now, i wonder if tubes + RS-1 would make the sound too warm?.
I'm using sony cd/sacd/dvd player or my sb audigy 2 as transports to M-Audio SuperDAC, which uses the unbalanced neutriks converting to RCA, with Van Den Hul d 102 mk III interconnects to the sony deck.
Like i said before, i want to preserve the impact and lively sound of the Grado cans and DAC (the DAC i really like very much!), i'm looking for more refinement, quality of amplification, thus making the bright nature of the cans less of a problem.
What amps do you recommend?
P.S. sorry for my poor english.
