I asked a question over in computer audio, on a way to control my volume from the pc from external hardware. I wanty to do this for various reasons. I was recommend the Griffin Powermate or a amp, and id rather get a amp over the Griffin Powermate.

My source is a Audigy 2 ZS pci sound card and I use ATH-A500 headphones. I also have a Gen 2 Ipod Nano that I sometimes use.


The amp needs to have controls on the outside for volume, which is one of the main reasons I am getting it alone with better audio quality.

Hi, I also have Creative A2ZS sound card, and I am also looking for a headphone amp to get better sound quality.

But I prefer a DAC comblined headphone amp, cause I have tested the sound card. A2ZS is bulided more for game and movies, its line out quality is not good for music, poor resolution and muddy. But its optical out is not bad. So a headphone amp with DAC can improve a lot.

Dose anyone can recommend a great value headamp with DAC? It's better lower than 200 dollars.
