i am looking to upgrade. currently have a emu 0202 and a diy soha with dt880s. i listen to classical and rock. what would be a good amp and or dac to get with around 800 bucks to spend. should i get an amp and a dac or just 1 or the other.

I paid just a little bit more than that for my amp and dac and really couldn't be happier.

My WooAudio6 retails for $570 and my Musiland MD10 retails for $295, although I picked it up used for about $260 IIRC. So total was $830 plus S&H.

Can't say exactly how it will sound with your Beyers, but the setup sounds awesome with both my Beyers and my Senns.

There's a Benchmark DAC for sale for about $800 in the FS forum. I think it has a built in amp.

I'd probably buy a used Benchmark DAC1 and then add an amp later on when more funds become available.
