[size=8pt]I was reading many different discussions on this site about some of the 5.1 / 7.1 headphones, but I have no clear conclusions so far.[/size]
 
[size=8pt]I would like to have good surround sound headphones, with the best sound quality of music you can get.[/size]

[size=8pt]So that’s why I ask you to help me choose some headphones that will REPLACE my speakers for late hour uses – with as less sound [/size][size=8pt]quality and surround sound experience loose at it is possible. [/size]

[size=8pt]I’ve read in some magazine that  Logitech G930 7.1 are really good because of its function to turn on/off 7.1 effect (7.1 on for games, 7.1 off for music) but I don’t know if its really that good as it looks like? Another my question is: do Logitech G35 7.1 have same function as well?[/size]
 
[size=8pt]I will just add that I don’t need wireless headphones – the wired ones will do as I don’t move far when using my PC.

Well I have turtle beach ear force HPA2 now. It has the best sound quality between all multiple drivers I had (Sharkoon x-tatic v3, roccat kave). It has lots of bass and you can set it less or more as you wish. 
As to positional clue, the sharkoon for me was the best.

Hi,
thank you for the answer. Those Turtle Beach HPA2 looks like a really good choice - among other things they have 8 speakers, and are in really good price. 
The only disadvantage for me it that I cant get them where I live (would have to ship them from US or GB - it's trouble for any possible future warranty needs).
If thats possible could you ellaborate more why you dislike Roccat Kave?
I have other Roccat gaming stuff and they are in really good quality - of course I understand that the gaming equipment producers don't have too be the best in making high-end music equipment, but still I've heard that they are really good when used with good sound card. Any more detailed informations would be appreciated. How was the base? Whats wrong with possitioning? How the regular music sound?

Roccat kave is closed, and it gives you kind of a hollow feeling. You can't control much of the bass, It does have good bass, because it has vibration instead of bass drivers. THe cords are horrible, rolling and so all the thime, I don't know the expression. They are heavier than hpa2.
The mic is prone to fail. Other than these and the price it is a good set actually. Where do you live? I can help you get these or others

Thanks again. That's giving me some idea about how Roccat Kave sounds.
Anyway I live in Poland - whitch makes unavailabilty of the HPA2 quite strange. Nevertheless all headphones mentioned in main post are available here (i mean: Logitech G35 7.1 / Logitech G930 7.1; Roccat Kave 5.1; STEELSERIES 5H V2 USB 7.1; SAITEK CYBORG 5.1; RAZER MEGALODON 7.1). I only way for me to get HPA2 which i know of is through international eBay - and that metod because of mentioned waranty problems and bit expensive shipping (about 30 euro) is quite a nuissance.
I would gladly buy Logitech G930 which is supposed be a more advanced model of G35, if somebody would confirm that they are worth their price! As for the G35 had not so warm rewievs (including this forum users opinions).

If you are going to buy something that has VIRTUAL surround you better look again as there are more option. Do you really want to go with a HEADSET meaning, with mic, or would you even buy headphones and add mic. If you can buy headphones only and use a mic with it, you have more choice

Have you looked into Audio-Technica AD700 + Astro Mixamp Combo? I am willing to bet they will beat out everything on your list. The only downside is that you will need a separate mic. Audiophile phones + Dolby Headphone > Gaming Headsets. Period.

Well In terms of information for competitive gaming I don't think dolby headphones is more useful than multiple drivers. AT least Sharkoons are way better for positioning on FPS Maps

I have tried several sets. I had months using sennheiser hd 600 with mixamp, also audio technica m50. I have also had sharkoons v3, roccat kave, or turtle beach x4. So I know by proper experience that virtual surround is a gimmick.

I have read tons of reviews and comparison for headsets for 5.1
I had the x-tatic. roccat kave and HP2. I have the ath-m50 and sennheiser hd 600. One closed one opened. I have mixamp
I still prefer 5.1 multiple driverss

Secondly 5.1 / 7.1 are stimulated surround sound.....
 
These are nothing compared to good audiophile grade headphone?
