Just looking for something to go with my new laptop (that sucked up my budget). Probably use for all tasks including gaming. Just want something comfortable since I might throw in some dead earbuds underneath with an in-line mic for a cheap headset instead of my laptop built-in mic.

So far looking at sennheiser hd 201/202, JVC HA-S700, and JVC RX500.

Any help?

Stop your search immediately, there is no need to look further.

Thanks but my budget is REALLY $30 after taxes. The RX700's will cost me close to $40. Ten dollars really makes a difference when you save headphones for last after buying laptop and accessories for it.

Raising another $10 shouldn't kill you, and in terms of full size cans for the price I can't think of anything that comes close to the RX700.

If you can muster up a few dollars more, you should buy the Superlux 668B.  I received mine this past Friday and all I can say is that these headphones will smoke all of your choices above combined.

Yup, Superlux. May not be a "Giant Killer" as reviewed by many, but definitely a slayer for any cans remotely near its price range.

Some models may be a little too "lifeless" for your taste though. I prefer the HD681F to the HD668B.

Is there any question? Not in my mind. Panasonic htf-600=$30 shipped. I am often amazed at just how good they sound at that price point.
