What is the best (open) headphone for around $100?

I have been quite happy with my Grado SR-80. It is easy to drive (works fine out of my ipod) and has good sound. I will soon be upgrading, though, but it is a fine headphone.

Philips HP1000 if you like pretty neutral cans which has quite good separation of sounds, detailed.. that's the word for it. But that's just my oppinion.

If you're OK with the comfort factor, this is definitely the way to go

It's basically a cheaper, tweaked SR125

great choice! you may want to try Sr80 (more fun, but also little on the bright side), but MS1 is a great choice
