I live in the midrange!
I just heard this album tonight, and it's dynamite!! It reminds me of the best qualities of Miles Davis' Kind of Blue. Great great music to just uncoil to after a hard day.

Can any of you jazz aficianados suggest any other works by either of these artists that would be similar? My taste in Jazz tends to run towards Miles Davis' Kind of Blue and AWAY from John Coltrane's Live in Japan (sorry FJC...

elrod-tom,
If you don't mind getting away from the sax (and more into Oscar / piano), there are a couple of Oscar Peterson recordings that I'd highly recommend:

(1) The Good Life -- "Wheatland" is awesome!
(2) Nigerian Marketplace - Title track will blow you away!

Both wonderful Oscar excursions...
