I have no idea of this is of any audio merit or not, (I sort of doubt it) but it would be fun to play with. It's a German rack mount headphone amplifier (4 headphones at once) The item is a Behringer HA 4400 headphone amp, which is designed to be used in a studio. I think it uses common 4580 op amps, so it's not really special or anything, but someone is selling two really cheap on ebay. One's currently got a top bid of 59 dollars and there's a second with a Buy It Now price of 89 dollars. (It seems to retail for about 200 dollars.) For that price, it has to beat a boostaroo.

Here' a product description if anyone is interested.

I'm not recommending it or anything, just noting its really cheap.

Don't think it's a op-amp output device. The op-amp is for all the balanced inputs. This is a serious piece of equipment for very little money. May not look chic, I think it does the job adequately. Looks more like pro audio equipment.

The thing I've found about Behringer equipment is that its all over the map in terms of quality. You never know what you're going to find. Some of their stuff is a good value, some is not. I have no direct experience with this particular amp but I do have experience with Samson Pro Headamp and can vouch for them. Check out:

that's not a bad sounding amp.

How about this one for a portable:

Cheers!
