The best behind the next headphones are the Koss SportaPros for $30.

EDIT: Clip-on headphones have no headband anc (as their name implies) rest on your ears. The best clip-ons are the Koss KSC-35, 55, and the new 75.

IIRC, the Koss KSC-50s are clip-ons and the KSC-55 is the streetstyle behind the neck phone. The KSC line of Koss portables are pretty good though the KSC-35 is supposed to have a better fit than the KSC-50 and KSC-55, which I have tried.

I got my girlfriend the KSC55 - which were recommended as the best pair in that style when I was looking last year. They are a rocking little set with a very exciting sound, and an even more exciting vice like grip!

They are very open though, and IMHO this makes them unsuitable for portables as they leak way too much sound. She doesn't care though, but it does annoy me.

Importantly they were a very low risk purchase as they are relatively cheap. The headband has already broken once, but the warranty is lifetime and she's just taking better care with the replacement pair. They certainly aren't bomb proof though.
