I’m in the market for some cheap IEMs after my long loved Beats Tour 2 earphones broke after a year and now they are no longer covered by Apples warranty. They were a gift to me, and frankly I’d never spend that amount of money on IEMs.

Regardless of how overpriced Beats are, I loved the sound of these earphones, and the clarity of the audio was unlike anything I had experienced before. The sound profile felt very ‘balanced’ to me in a way, also unlike any IEMs I had heard before.

The only other earphones I have ever used besides the Beats were generic mobile phone earphones,or earphones from Amazon which I had bought for under £15, a variety of Chinese branded and Betron products.

I currently have a budget of around £30, and I don’t mind buying used. What IEMs can I find in this price range that can best replicate the sound of the Tour 2’s which I have just lost? I use my earphones for a variety of different purposes such as watching videos&movies as well as listening to audiobooks and old rock songs. What specific products should I be looking at?

I appreciate every response I receive!

I recently found a pair of SoundMAGIC E10c and have used them a little bit and are very surprised by the sound quality. I'm definitely not an IEM guy and wouldn't really want to spend money on them but these sound like the typical consumer sound signature but better. I've heard almost every model of Beats up to the studios and they all sound unbalanced, too bass (and the bass bleeds into the kids and is very sloppy or muddy) and the highs aren't crisp or detailed. These E10c are bassy like beats but the bass is well defined and doesn't bleed into the mids. It reaches lower than my Momentum 2 which is surprising. The mids are forward and have great texture, and the highs are crisp. It sounds like no other IEM I've tried, in the sense that the bass is elevated, but the mids are also present, and the highs are present as well. Nothing is recessed and it sounds very exciting. I think it would be a good fit for you!
