Beats Solo 2 vs Bose soundtrue over ear/on ear

Which one and why?

Leaning towards Bose, but I heard solo2s are better than many people thought.

I know that there are way better options than these, but these are the only options as a reward for my card points.

Also if sound true, over ear or on ear?

Beats Solo2 HD vs Bose soundtrue over ear/on ear

I use to have the Bose AE2 headphones, which the Soundtrue around hear headphones replaced.  The Soundtrue headphones feel the same when worn, and sound similar from what I can tell.  They were the most comfortable headphones I've ever had on my head (I've tried on the Soundtrues and found the same comfort level).  I wore them for hours without the slightest discomfort.  The clamping pressure is very low, and the headphones are equally light weight, so they feel secure despite the low clamping pressure.

They sounded good to me.  A little "thin" sounding, is the best way I could describe them.  The Soundtrue's are supposedly a little heavier on the bass, so maybe they are a little fuller sounding, but I've only ever tested them briefly at Best Buy, so I can't say for sure.  I'm not an expert on audio for sure, but they sounded pretty ok to me.  I think they are on sale right now for around $129 vs. $199 for the Solo2, if that's a consideration.

As far as on vs. around ear, I prefer around ear from a purely comfort standpoint.  If I remember correctly, the on-ear Soundtrues had a heavier bass than the around ears.  Personally, I preferred the sound and comfort of the around ear Soundtrue headphones.  But I don't prefer a bass heavy sound, as I know many people do, so keep that in mind.
