Hi ppl, just wondering if anyone knows of any simple tube preamp kits or modules (or cheap pre-made ones) that can be run of batteries (or a regulated wallwart if need be)?
I'm thinking of putting together a portable hybrid integrated with a tripath module (eval or ex-T amp). I LOVE the clarity, prat, and soundstaging of the 'digital' amps and was thinking a tube front end might give it that magic touch of wetness and sweetness I miss from me tubes..
This guy is available locally to me and can be configured for stereo 'hifi' use apparently, maybe it could be modded to sound ok?
