Being into RC vehicles I am also naturally into battery power.  A long time ago I was researching smaller AA size batteries and stumbled upon this website:

Good reading material about batteries.

I bought a box of Duracell StayCharged rechargeable AAA batteries, and they look very similar to the Sanyo Eneloops. Both of them are LSD and rated at 800mah

Hey that reminds me, I meant to post this picture up a while back.

The Japanese made versions are known to be better batteries.  And the white top Duracell and Sanyo are supposedly the same, and the best.

Glad you found one! Tell us if you've noticed improvements in battery life, if you don't mind.

Be careful handling Lithium batteries, especially with Lithium Ion.

just as a follow up, I got the battery and it took like 2.5 to 3 hours to fully charge the first time, it the supplied charger.

will put it in the mini3 tonight and trying it over the weekend/next week.

OK so the mini3 supports Ni-metal batteries only. so the first one I order wasnt good for it, a shame it was a 600 mAh.
i got me this and it works great,  over 8 hours now, first time trying it and still working, its a 270 mAh.

May I ask why didn't the Lithium battery work? I can't think of anything that causes the Lithium to not work, same size, same voltage.

A bad thing about NiMH is that it has a very fast self discharge rate.

Anyways, I found this website where you can build your own alternative 9V battery but you can get 2900mah.

It is how the mini3 is designed. it just doesnt support them

Ni-Cd batteries are not recommended due to the poorer charge capacity and memory effect. Li-Po, Li-Ion, or any non-rechargeable battery should not be used to avoid an explosion hazard.

I tried them and nothing, luckily not explosion either
