Does anyone here know how to make a non-sealed battery pack for use with portable DVD players or HDD DAP devices as if it were, say, a car adaptor or backup battery (in other words, this device _cannot_ charge the internal batteries in the unit)?
I'm looking to use 2600-mAh AAs to make up the required voltage (usually anywhere up to 12 V, I believe) to run a portable DVD player(s) or HDD-based digital audio player.
I'm not looking for something that will fall apart in use, but something that I _can_ swap out/in batteries (doesn't have to be whilst running; I need to remove for charging).
Is this do-able & useful in this era of every device having their own special batteries?
Thanks very much for any information on how to do this...
