i think the best way to give etys more bass is a bassy amp.

btw, why is the 001mkII never mentioned because ive heard it surpasses etymotics and and e4 from what ive read. is the only problem isolation?

And I listened to a lot of elecronic music (Synthpop, Electro Indie, Industrial etc). And shamelessly I admit that with Nelly Furtado's Loose album, I was awashed with bass sweeps - man that album is so full of bass in every area. So what it means is that ER-4S will deliver perfectly when the songs demand bass.

If you have ER-4P, go for ER-4S upgrade and get Xin Supermini/Supermicro with bass boost

That's interesting, cause I also use the Rio Karma for portable listening. An amp really isn't in my budget, so I doubt I'd go for a Xin or the S upgrade. For those who mention EQ-ing - I've tried, but it's still not where I'd really like it to be. I mean, there's objectively more bass, but it still sounds a little too distant and uninvolving.

Would other people recommend the im716 in my situation? That's still the only feasible suggestion without shelling out more money. I want to check them out, but I'm not sure if there's a local store that would sell them.
