Somewhat random question but I recently purchased an electric bass guitar and was wondering if I could plug it into my Gilmore Lite for practicing.

I wouldn't. Where would you plug it in? The headphone jack is designed to output a signal, not receive one.

He means so that he can listen through headphones, right?

OP: You'd need to get the bass to output with RCA jacks. That's the most common input for headphone amps

I've played Godin Multiac (its analog output) through a portable headphone amp before, so I don't see why not.

I just used some alligator clips to connect the 1/4" cable from my bass to the RCA cables going into a headamp, and it gave nice clean sound. So yeah, it'll work fine, you just have to crank the volume up a lot higher.
