OK, unless there are decent IEM's out there with good clarity and bass, I'm just going to get the Etymotic ER-6i's. I'm now using my Super.fi 3's for accoustic and soft/alternative rock. But now I need some for my Metal genre. I still need clarity, doesn't have to be as much as the Super.fi 3's, but I definitely need more bass. I've been looking at the A-T ATH-CK7's and the Jay d-JAYS and I refuse to buy from V-Moda because of the manufactural flaws they make. So any more suggestions please? One note, I wear glasses, so cables that go behind my ear have to be non-microphonic against my glasses. *hint*

well, oddly enough, i've been using vibes for my work rig up until a few weeks ago when the cable started cracking, i've been experimenting with my Zen Aurvana's, listening to metal, and i've been really enjoying them, maybe not everyone's cup 'o tea, but they definitely surprised me from when i first tried them out, when i first got them, i couldn't stand them, tinny, and hardly any bass... my Dad's been using them since, and i guess he basically used them enough to burn in nicely, bass is definitely there, its punchy, but not overbearing, the highs are still there, but sound fuller, they really lost that tinny sound

I saw those, they're good IEM's afphreak? How many hours would you say your dad has been using them. I really liked the ep-630's, so I hope those wouldn't be dissapointing. Anyone know anything about the metro.fi 2's by UE?

If you are not so set on speed and would like nice bass impact with some weight then I would go for the X3s. I don't really consider the X3s to be slow or fat. I think the bass is about perfect, but some folks really into speed may not like the extra low bass.

I've read one too many bad reviews of manufactural flaws of the x3's so i'd like to rule those out, unless they aren't that bad, and someone can give me a place to buy them, but please other suggestions please.

i would say around 150-200 hours total, i just checked creative's site and they're listed at $79 now, which is a surprise, i wouldnt say they were worth the $99 price tag back when i got them, but i got lucky one day at the fry's in arlington, and found a pair damaged package (but still unopened!) aurvana's for $59

well, disclaimer, i'm probably not the greatest at comparing IEMS for this, but.... right off the bat, the zens have alot better isolation, i'm using small stock tips on both, listening to Wreath, first track on the Deliverance album, since its a longer song, and is a great example of my library, i'll give it a little more time, but the vibes are a little more punchy, but the zens sound more balanced, theres still some highs with the zens... at the moment i gotta give the edge to the zens

hiss, i can hear it on both with my rig, but more easily with the zens, edge vibes

never thought ABing would be this hard lol

are they a good company? they don't really show you a lot of info about what you're buying.
