This buyer purchased a pair of Sony MDR-7509 from me and instead of showing some gratitude for beeing helpful and trying to protect the vinyl ear pads with Armored All, made some "insulting comments", about its smell, and please the automute feauture that Sony forgot to include in this model after they made the advertisements, is not my fault, you have the exploded diagram in the manual, there is no such electronic device (at least I never saw it working as one in my cans or in any other similar) please why not asking first, instead of insulting me, first is not "bad cologne", all the colognes I use are very good ones and smell very good, but the smell you feel is a protective and very usefull substance that sells a lot here in the US, and instead of asking as everybody would do first, he insulted me what an attitude, right!!!!....

Seeing as he's posted about me...

I apologise to Sovkiller about the armor all, I don't know what that smells like, it smells exactly like slightly yukky cologne off the skin, but if these phones are 'as new' then there's no need to treat them so. If you were trying to be helpful, sorry. And the auto mute switch is referred to in Sony documentation. As I PM'd, no biggie, but still caused some concern.

Well...

Contrary to the previous post, I would have no second thoughts about dealing with Bangraman again... After meeting up with him in London to purchase a pair of (immaculate condition) Beyer DT250s we chatted for a couple of hours and I can safely say he is as friendly a guy as you could ever meet...

Definite thumbs up from me

(oh, and Bangra... the next drink is definetly on me!!)

In all honesty I have to apologise to Sovkiller for the cologne thing. Duncan smelled your 7509's too (eeeeeyuck).

I suffered from premature evaluation

I have no compains about his honesty, the payment was made fast and even he included some more money for the insurance, he is a nice buyer and maybe and excellent person, please do not hesitate in dealing with him, but please next time do not insult any seller or buyer under any circumstances prior to contact him, this was not very polite, along the history the british are renown for their politeness, I don't think you are the exception of the rule, and first always ask, there are a lot of products that are slightly different here, than in Europe...Sorry if someone misunderstood my words...

a) I'm not British.
b) After 4 washes, I still get the Armor All smell on my ears every time I take the 7509 off.
Was the post justified? For a pair of phones advertised 'as new' or a variation on that, YES.

The phones were "as new" when I shipped them to you and you have no doubt of that, they were and performed as new, absolutelly nothing was missing, scratched, damaged, or even not cosmetically aceptable, AND IF THIS IS NOT A LIKE NEW ITEM, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS THEN!!! or am I wrong???? If I do, why did you accept it then, and did not returned it to me for a refund? I gladly would do it, Why? because it was no reason at all....I treat all my vinyl, leather etc...on headphones and furnitures, and all around home in genral with armor all regardless of the age, it is to protect from, not to fix what is damaged, this is a substance sold in all USA only for that purpose and no other one and very popular BTW, but how do I know if you are going to dislike the Armor All smell? BTW not that bad as you stated, all the people here in the states had smelled armor at least once in their life, is widely used around the US, so mostly everybody knows that smell, and nobody complains about it, if they do the Co. would chaged this smell for another, Don't you think??? and I don't think that this should be an excuse for the hassle and the insult I received (Liberace and all these stuff, remember?) It was not nice at all as you didn't know me or my prefferences, OK? is that what I was reffering about, otherwise everything was fine.....Nobody likes to be insulted in public right?

I sold a set of headphones to bangraman. He was a pleasure to deal with, and communication was great. I'd deal with him again anytime. Excellent buyer, and highly recommended.

Bangraman did me a huge favor by going to a local shop and picked me up a pair of Sony CD1700s, which are not available here in the US, AFAIK.

he was very communicative, extremely careful in his packaging, and tried the phones b4 mailing them to make sure they worked (he even wore a plastic bag on his head so not to mar the headphones at all).

the shipping from the UK to California took a bit longer than expected, but that wasnt his fault in the least. shipping was a bit pricey too, but again, thats the postal service, not him.

so thanks for everything bangraman!!! i would happily buy/sell with you again

I actually wore the plastic bag on my head 'as is', found out where the earholes were and cut a 0.5" hole in the bag where the ears would be. Please don't take this as an 'what would I do for you' thread because I am NOT shipping another CD1700 to the US, but I do really like (along with Duncan) to get people involved with the CD1700 lover tip.

FYI, ASK (askdirect.co.uk) has under 20 CD1700's (which are not listed on the website and which I will not pack for you
) available for £80. Time to ring up anyone you know in the UK!

Well, What can I say... it makes a change for me to give Bangraman an item... I sold him my Cambridge Audio DAC, and... he got me a pair of E888s from Japan, as well as his N707...

I've already said over and over that he's a great guy to deal with... and i'll say it again

Deal with confidence!!
