I've had my gen 1 H6's since May and really like them, but i find myself wanting a pair of sennheiser HD600's. I'm not sure whether to sell my H6's or just go ahead and buy the HD600's and keep both. do most of you guys/gals have multiple pairs of high end headphones?
Some of us are so stupid to have multiple pair of almost the same headphone..
I have an H6 Gen 1 and an H6 Gen 2 :)

H6 and HD600 are way different headphones, you will find time to enjoy both for sure!

Hi

I'm probably going to order a H6 v2 for my needs, I hesitated some time between the B&O, the Momentum 2, the HP50 and the Meze 99.

They went on sales some days ago in Amazon France, I'm hunting the main online stores each day for a sale of this can.

Can anyone compare to the Sony mdr-100abn? Those are what I currently have. I purchased the mdr-1000x at the same time but kept the 100s due to a preference of the sound signature.

These B&O's seem to maybe have a similar signature on paper at least. Warm, slight recessed mids and some extra bass.

Just wondering if there is a ton more detail or not.

I own a Meze 99 and the sound is quite the opposite of the Beoplay : much more bass and a darker sound signature. I must admit I was a little bit desappointed when I listen to it first after having been reading all the positive feedbacks.
Thje Beoplay is ok with every type of music and much more comfy too.

Never heard the Sony’s but I would not consider the h6 warm, recessed or having extra bass. I actually think that is way off. Neutral, flat through the midband and with slightly recessed bass if anything. They have extraordinary detail and are very transparent.

Couple questions for you guys. I really enjoyed the H6s when I was able to audition them for an extended period of time so I am looking to buy a pair. Is there anyway to tell from pictures if it is a 1st or 2nd gen? Does anyone have suggestions for a small case that fits the H6s well? What is a decent portable audio only (no mic chord) that works with the H6? I saw this cord (https://www.soundsheavenly.com/bo-p...-h4-h6-h7-h8-headphones-with-metal-plugs.html).

It's quite futile to compare the two. I've heard both, and I can honestly recommend that go for the Sony if and only if noise cancellation is absolutely important to you. In all other aspects, the H6 blows the Sony's away, be it detail, soundstage, midrange and treble clarity, and preciseness of the bass.
From what I understand of your prefered sound signature, you might want to consider the Sony mdr-1a which is a little more comparable to the H6.

I can't speak for the sound, but in my opinion the build quality of Mdr-1a is sh**. All plastic and bad quality synthetic leather.

I have tried the Mdr-1a and found the bass to be bloated.

I've bought the first generation on Ebay refurbished / like new to 118 Euro, with a 10% discount on ebay (B&O sells its products, even on ebay, with cheaper prices than amazon). I have to say that I was far more satisfied with the h6 2gen, which had a hole in my mids, thin sound, and sometimes tiring.
I also found the comfort on the ear better. Anyway, is it true who says the sound is akin to the Akg 701/702, as bass/ mids/ high?
I still wanted to figure out if I had a good deal to take the h6 because it tends to please me more spacious sounds where drivers are separated from the ear. Does anyone know how to compare them? In short, for 118 euros with a 12-month warranty, it's a big deal!?!.
