With no price point, the SinglePower SDS-XRL is by far the best I've ever heard, but that's assuming that you are serious when you say 'no price point' because it's a bit of an overkill for a pair of headphones to say the least, and the price reflects this.

There are several threads that discuss this amp and a number of other excellent candidates.

Check out this thread:

http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=125147 (oops, Genetic beat me to the punch on that one).

And these as well:

Please note that I've not heard, in detail, a whole lot of balanced headphone amps, so (strictly speaking) I'm just answering the question based on what I'm familiar with. But having said that, I was completely blown away at just how good the HD650's can be when I heard them with the SDS-XLR. How it compares to the other balanced amp contenders I'll leave for the others who have more experience in this regard than I do. And, seriously, the price point for this amp is a factor, at least for most people.

Has anyone heard of the Opera Cyber 30 Signature headphone amp & integrated amp? How do they match up with the senn's?

I heard Kurt's Dynamight... simply awesome! Best bass, punch and speed I heard, but this thing gets pretty hot. Better suited for winter or air conditioned environment.

Singlepower SDS-XLR
I'll tell. $7K plus for the base model. Might be able to get one a little cheaper with less options but you need to talk to Mikhail about it. Hell, they might be more now. Call Mikhail. Soundstage, and real imaging from headphones. Awesome amp!

I'm getting a Dynamight built by SFT as well so that's my recommendation.

I thought they were $9,000 for the base model. At $7,000 I would pick up 2.

It sounds like a very cool amp. I must resist the temptation to start with a balanced setup. Enjoy!
