BAKOON HPA-21 - Headphone Amplifier                    NOW SOLD

Exquisite sounding battery powered headphone amplifier utilizing the renowned SATRI Circuit technology.

Purchased new in late 2014 from Soo In Chae at Bakoon Products and used for less than 50 hours. The HPA-21 is in pristine condition with no marks or scratches. It has been safely stored in my home office and the batteries have been recharged every 3 months to maintain their integrity. Plays for over 6 hours (depending on load) from the internal battery pack, so is transportable for e.g. use in a bedroom, conservatory, office or mancave.

New costs $2,995 or £2288 plus shipping & VAT/import duties, so to import this today would cost around £2,800.

Pairs beautifully with planar magnetic and just about every other headphone too, possibly excluding the HE-6 and AKG K 1000.

Selling as have far too many headphone amplifiers and I'm raising funds for another project.

FREE UK next day delivery via a tracked/insured service. European purchasers please P.M. me for a shipping quote. Payment by PayPal only. No trades thanks.

The eBay (UK listing) auction starts at 0.99p so bid and you might just nab a bargain. :)

Yes battery only, as the DC socket is for the laptop style charger to recharge the batteries.

Hi,
I just wanted to ask a question - does this amp only operate off the battery? The photo of the back looks like there's
a dc socket.
Just that I thought this is a battery-only amp.
Thanks.

You're welcome. I admit that this is a limitation, as it would have been much more convenient if the batteries could trickle charge from the mains (via the DC charger) and the HPA-21 draw power from the battery pack whilst playback occurred. But hey, the batteries still deliver 6 hours plus of sublime sound. :)

Thank you.

If the HPA-21 doesn't sell this weekend I'll keep it. As the price is already ludicrously low and a quick Google search shows that units in similar condition sell for far more money.

That's fair enough.
I'm really pondering over this, but it isn't an easy decision (even if it should be!)
A bit more than I'd earmarked for an amp, and a few other things I'm uncertain of, but I am thinking about this versus
the other possible amp/dac purchases that I've been aiming for.
I think a large part of why quite a few things aren't really selling at this time is simply the sheer number of exciting new headphones
and amps that seem to be appearing every week, month-on-month.
If I decide yes, I only hope it's before you decide no!
Be well.

Very good point, as there are far more new headphones & headamps nowadays than even 6 months ago. But how many can you link up to your DAP (via a 3.5mm to RCA/RCA cable) and enjoy stellar fidelity in the garden listening to planar magnetics sipping a cool beer!
