Hi there,
I hope someone might be able to help me here, yesterday on impulse I picked up a Lenco GL78 without a plinth. It appears to be taken from a dynatron system.

I know nothing about fixing these things up with new plinth, arm and cartridge etc. but I thought I would give it a go. First though I just want to plug it in and see if it even works.
However I am baffled before I even begin, there appears to be three shortish connection wires coming from it, one with a small two pin plug that Ive never encountered before ( Im from the UK), another is a yellow wire which Im guessing is the ground wire and the other is a wire divided into red and white with a siver wire in between them.

Now, I feel incredibly stupid here but Im not even sure which is the main power cable. It looks to be the two pin one, but how do I go about putting a new plug on it with just two wires? or is there an adaptor I can get? Then what do I need to do to get the other wires to connect to my amp?
Many thanks for listening.

The table does look like it came out of console. You're probably right about the 2 pin cable being the power cable. The other 3 wire cable would be the tonearm leads that were connected to a form of phono box (red for right positive signal, white for left positive, bare silver wire for both negative returns) The yellow cable is probably the ground wire from your table to the ground wire terminal on your amp. You will probably have to do some re-wiring. You should look underneath the table to verify this and also read the manual.

I couldn't find a manual online for your table. However the GL78 was an evolution of the GL75. Here is a link to the manual for that model. You will have to register on the Vinyl Engine site so that you can download it.

There are numerous threads on Audiogon.com, Audiokarma.org, Vinyl Engine and the Vinyl forum at Audioasylum.com about restoring and modding Lencos if you search.
