You can make fresh bacon salt yourself, too. It's really easy. Epicurious podcast #56 has a good video of a chef at the Bellagio showing you how:

I'm not going to be able to watch that until i get home from work, but I'm guessing it's not quite the same thing.

The really freaky part about Baconsalt(tm) is that it is certified kosher.

It doesn't look like there's any bacon in Baconsalt (tm); it's all flavoring. The homemade baconsalt is made with the real thing. I haven't tried it yet, but I wouldn't dismiss it if it's good enough to be served at the Bellagio.
