After kinda falling out of the amp/IEM pairing game for a while due to non-LOD sources (x5L and 8G Zune), I finally got a brand-new iPod Classic to go along with a new pair of Westone W3.

I already have a RSA Hornet that I never had modded by Ray that he was doing right after the Hornet's initial release, and now I am trying to figure out what to do next...obviously a line-out dock and possibly a modification to the Hornet?

Spent a lot of $$$ already, not looking to go real crazy, but I know there is further audio bliss out there waiting for me...any suggestions appreciated!

I have hundreds upon hundreds of compact discs, so I am set on tunes, just kinda looking for if it is worth it to invest in a line-out dock to hook up the amp, and which one I should get...

How much to M the Hornet?

If not much I would do that and buy a LOD for around $50 and be done.

The Hornet Non-M had a deeper and stronger bass as I recall. Check w/ Ray to make sure.

you'll definitely need an lod, but i wouldnt spend a fortune on that if i were you. 70-80 dollars should get you very very far with a diyer, and with an ipod as source, differences are subtle at best, percieved at worst.

"M-ing" your Hornet is definitely worth it if you choose that route.

It used to be a free modification for Hornet owners...but don't know about these days.
