Baby-Stax, are the little ones just entry level? (SR-003)

how does the SR003 sound when compared to some of the normal bias earspeakers like the SR 3, 5, X?

The 003 compares very nicely to the older stax. Completely different overall balance though. older stax are brighter with less bass, 003s are darker with more bass and a very sweet middle. They are complementary rather than competing. My 003 was $125 from Audiocubes a couple of years back. Beats just about everything in it's price range for me.
