Just another non-audio thing that I thought you guys might have some knowledge about.

What are the good services that let you manage your bills via a web browser? I know Yahoo and Paypal and I think Billpoint have them but I don't know which one is better and why.

Any opinions?

I could sure use a service that will pay your bills automatically taking it out of your checking out, especially when I go work over seas where I can't really get reliable snail mail.

You know, something to take care of your mobile phone bill, loan, and other monthly fees.

Yup, all banks (which includes big and small banks) I deal with offer some kind of online banking and bill pay, though some is better than the other. Most are free if you're a customer. If you are a Quicken user, I think you can have the service thru Quicken online, and transcations will be updated on your program. I believe they charge a fee though.

Even my little old credit union now has a bill pay service. One of the best little time savers ever. I was a little leary of services not offered by my own bank because I know how bad the communication is between bureaucracies in a crisis, so I decided to wait. I pay a $5 monthly fee for the service, which I consider cheap for the time savings.

Not all bill pay services are the same. Some do the transaction electronically (where available), some send out paper checks for you. Some banks even receive and pay bill online (where availble), so you can check and pay your bills on one web site. My experience is bigger bank offers better service (in general) but you get sucky interest rate in return.

I sent in a registration for the Compass Bank one. We'll see how that works. I'm still open to ideas, though.

I tend to deal directly with my banks over the internet. all my credit card stuff is handled online.

Companies like the gas and electric, phone, etc. are starting to wise up and offer automated credit card debits that pay the balance of your bills online.

Almost forgot: some banks even offer bill payments thru them electronically. My bank offers that ability for up to 15 different bills to be paid each month for only $5. Worth looking into!!!!
