Austin Meet - Interest Check?

Yeah, 2 cents here.  Unless there's a huge response, I'd say the smaller room would be adequate.

Cypress (1500sq ft) then?

No--I believe we need 2,000 sf., unless there will be no vendors and the attendance will be lower than in 2013.

I am not sure of the room name but the 2013 one was 100% perfect for that meet it seemed. Was the attendance larger last year?

So far I'm thinking we might have 30-40 people at most. We had about 55-60 people in 2013 in the 2000sq ft room. 2014 in the 4500sq ft room was about 45 people. I thought the Pecan (2000) was a good size, but it ended up being a little louder than I wanted.

So if we're thinking Cypress and at most 40 people we're looking at $20 per person to meet the $800 room fee, which is what we did in 2013 and 2014 for regular entry. 2014 had a bit more cost to vendors.

Judging by the slack interest, we might be able to fit in a library space. I'll work on some research tonight to find a place with at least 1000-1200sq ft to fit 20-30 people. If anyone knows of a library or similar public space that would house us, it would be appreciated.

The three rooms at Norris are still available as of this morning, but if we're looking at 20 or so people showing interest, it will be hard to pay for a $800 + fees room.

So, the library situation is full of options it seems. I sent Sathyam the results of my research with a task to check stuff out. If anyone else would be willing to help, please post here or PM me and I'll add you to our conversation and bring you up to speed.

Also a quick request - Reading the Round Rock Public Library room reservation page, it seems you need to be a Round Rock resident. Is anyone here from Round Rock that would be willing to take responsibility for reserving the room, if we decide to go there?

edit - went to look at the city list for the 2014 meet and realized I never updated those interested to the Texas HF list. Added those who weren't already on and sent the spam pm.

I no longer live in Austin, but I will be in Austin in early January and would be interested in attending and possibly bringing gear depending on the date of the meet.

I went last year and would definitely be interested in attending again.

We're looking at late January, probably 23rd or 30th, unfortunately. Do you want me to keep you on the list?

Yes, to remain on the list--I'll be returning at some point to Austin, just don't know when...and I don't expect that Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, will see a head-fi meet any time soon

Not only interested but psyched. Had a great time at the last one. I'll bring my HD600 + speedballed Crack with upgraded tubes, and gamma2 and gamma1.5 DACs from AMB. I could also bring my DX90 if people would be interested in hearing that (and if I still have it).
