Yeah, the HD800S sounds amazing on this amp, and once you EQ it with a bass shelf, ooofffff, audio heaven.Today I had my first hours with my HD 800s. The S17 is just amazing how it even enlarges the already good soundstage of the HD 800s. Just wow, I didn't expect that!

I have a question , I noticed that you use iFi dac, not sure what model. Do you feel or have a need to replace this dac with a better one? They sound great with these, altough I would say that the Focal Radiance are a bit amp skeptic (they sound the same with every amp I own). Regarding the Sennheiser HD800s, in the beggining I thought the sinergy was better with the Focal Arya Stealth, but now I'm increasingly listening with the HD800s and really liking its sinergy (depending on the quality of the recording, but that's always the case with these unforgiving headphones).
Regarding the heat, I have a stable temperature of 61/62 °C using two 80mm fans running at 12V underneath the amp (room temperature 27°C, right now). Only problem is that I can hear the fans in quiet passages in the music. I am waiting for bigger (and hopefully quieter) fans that I've ordered (hoping that I can run them at 5V). Other than that, I also agree that it should be possible to turn off the the screen.
At the store I was suggested to match the IFI AUDIO ZEN ONE STUDIO to the S17 Pro, but I wonder if I might actually be better off with something better.
I'm getting closer and closer to buying the whole system, and even though I've been reading the whole thread all over again and have mixed feelings, I'm still drawn towards the S17 and pairing it with the Arya Organic.
I still have a little concern because they only have 16 Ohms, and the recommended one is supposedly a minimum of 30 upwards and I don't know if that won't interfere with something, it will probably influence it to heat up.
And one more question:
Can I put the S17 upright? I'm going to mount it in the “Rig”, a simracing stand that rests on aluminum profiles, I plan to attach it to the side of the structure to the aluminum profiles in such a way that the display doesn't bother me, I don't like having something in my eyes netting and distracting me.

I don't use a IFI DAC - I use a IFI Streamer. My DAC is Chord Mojo 2, which I feel has great synergy with Aune S17 Pro.I have a question , I noticed that you use iFi dac, not sure what model. Do you feel or have a need to replace this dac with a better one?

this is my case: he1000se + s17pro+ ifi gryphon with a balanced cable 4.4mm to 2x xlr. actually i tried x26pro and was fenomenal but ifi gryphon is warmer and you get also the xbass features that increase basses. hifiman headphone often has a little too much trebles so ifi gryphon can warm this sound and make it very full, not neutral but for me is the right sound with he1000. don't make my same error, don't spend too much in the source, the most evident increasing in quality you'll have spending in amp or headphoneI have a question , I noticed that you use iFi dac, not sure what model. Hello,
I am sure it was asked several times but can we compare S9 and s17?
I would like something below 1000€ for a he1000v2 stealth...
Mentioned the griffon as a dac, maybe a ifi idsd signature can be good too ?
Thanks Greg

Haven't seen someone done that yet, what you have to keep in mind with this amp is that you need proper airflow/ventilation with this one in order to maintain the temps as stable as possible, as long as you have proper airflow, IN THEORY, there shouldn't be any issues, no matter which way you orient the amp.And one more question:

hi, I used to have an iFi Zen DAC paired with this -- completely fine. of course the sound will still feel a bit 'digital' and less lifelike, but for the price you pay, no problems whatsoever. I hooked it up balanced via 4.4 to XLR, which is also another cable that iFi produces. there is a 'premium' version of the cable, which is way more easily found, but also a cheaper 'SE' version which is what I used and had no problems with.I have a question , I noticed that you use iFi dac, not sure what model. it depends on what you want. if you want a more neutral sound, then maybe iFi is not so great. if you want something very warm, iFi is the one
alternatively, it could be that you can't tell any difference between DACs at all - which I've heard is a very common occurrence!
I have already decided that once it's time to upgrade from S17 Pro, I am going to get the iFi Pro iCAN

I would not consider buying any Ifi products today, as they are not worth the price in terms of sound quality. They are significantly inferior to products from leading Chinese manufacturers, which offer better value for money.hi, I used to have an iFi Zen DAC paired with this -- completely fine. of course the sound will still feel a bit 'digital' and less lifelike, but for the price you pay, no problems whatsoever. I am very doubtful that the S9 will be able to provide a satisfactory level of sound quality for these headphones.Hello,

The S17 Pro is noticeably more advanced than the previous models.
And Ifi iDSD Signature as well. This device works well with dynamic headphones, but I wasn't impressed by its sound quality when used with planar headphones.
I found an interesting amplifier comparison (that cooled my rush towards M3 Shiitt a bit):
https://www.head-fi.org/threads/cay...-tube-amplifier.963983/page-146#post-18111737
so there we have the summary list:
Here's a comparison I'll put in a different way, (from Soundnews):
I think it looks quite nice for an amplifier at half the price, the Mentor became the link between these comparisons.
Anyway, I recently discovered that in quiet night listening, the Aune S17 Pro (I like that word) crushed the Singxer SA-1.
When I listen quietly do I see how spacious it is

agreed, I would never buy iFi products brand new -- but if I can get a good price for it, why not?I would not consider buying any Ifi products today, as they are not worth the price in terms of sound quality. what would be good upgrades from Aune S17 PRO? I'm interested in still keeping the unit and using it as a preamp to see how it performs

Ah ah ifi has a musical sound that Chinese manufacturers can just dream about. In fact they sound all the same more or less. But this is my opinion :a lot of people judge hifi gear reading science audio review and perfect measurements. measurements mean nothing if your ears hate it that's my general attitude towards it. I appreciate graphs as theyre a reflection of the manufacturer's care in producing sound, but ultimately they should not define your opinion on it!Ah ah ifi has a musical sound that Chinese manufacturers can just dream about. lovely, I'll have a look through them allGustard H26, Schiit MJ3, Flux Labs Mentor, Cayin iHA-8
I will admit while I have zero doubt that Chinese hi-fi can produce the same quality of audio compared to British counterparts, I have noticed that I've had less manufacturing and QC issues with the British-made products I've used so far. but I suppose they gotta bring the costs down somehow if they're shipping it from thousands of kilometres away, right?
do not get me wrong though, as a Chinese person myself I will always hold a soft spot for Chinese hi-fi
