Hi,
I see the M1S can play ALAC files, but there is no mention of what bit depth or sample rates it can play those. Can you please confirm?
All of my music library is ALAC, most of it is 16/44.1, but I also have many 24/44.1, 24/48, 24/88.2, 24/96, 24/176.4 and 24/192 ALAC files.
Also, is DSD playback native or does it go through a PCM conversion?

Hi,
the latest firmware supports 44.1/44.8K 16bit ALAC (24bit is probably fine,too. Can you please send some of your ALAC to us for test? shellychen@auneaudio.com, thanks!)
And DSD playback is native:)

Super nice deal AuneAudio!

Guys, I can tell you Aune has been hard at work making firmware upgrades based on suggestions that we reviewers have made. I've been uploading videos for M1s to my YouTube channel and have been impressed with the progress Aune has made. And better still, they released a FW update with even more enhancements since I uploaded a video over the weekend. Super awesome!

Thank you for your answer.
I am sorry, it would be quite difficult to send you test tracks for all 24 bit sample rates, as they come quite heavy, especially when reaching 24/192. Moreover, and most importantly, I honestly don't feel comfortable sharing music over the Internet.
However, you can convert any 24 bit FLAC file in 24 bit ALAC one by using the XLD freeware (http://tmkk.undo.jp/xld/index_e.html) by chosing "Apple Lossless" in the output format drag menu, and then "Same as original" in the option menu for both the sample rate and bit depth.
I hope you understand my being uncomfortable sharing music.
