I feel that frustration. I used to experience it believe me almost on a daily basis it seemed somebody had to come into the Z1R thread and tell people how terribly over-priced and ordinary sounding the Z1R was. So your response was very relatable for me and I am glad that you didn't feel I was attacking you, or trying to shame you. Cheers.

I'm all for differing opinions. What I never really figured is why someone who obviously dislikes something would want to go that specific interest group to dump.on them.
I've seen that in the real world, on social media and yes, these forums too.
I mean, if you don't like pink fluffy elephants, don't go to the pink elephant forum and dump on the fans.

Anyway, I really lurve my Nighthawks... I can go for weeks listening to other phones and when I go back to the hawks again, it's like coming home. Feels all sorts of right. Like it's got all these oddly shaped bits that just fit me. Might take a minute or two, like wearing leather shoes you've neglected for a while. But once in there... Mmmmm.... Sweet

I'll bet it is a band name already.

I did find one called The Pink Elephants - The Pink Elephants are a psychedelic shoegaze band from Ottawa Canada and Athens Greece.

Otherwise...

Ha ha, good to see my home town represented.

I can totally relate to that. My body actually does a sigh of relief with the nighthawks.

Maybe you could go see them play locally!
There's a capital idea, and Ottawa is the capital city so it seems to fit. Love shoegaze, so much amazing innovation, and essentially really good "gazers" are like mobile sound engineers who are also incredible musicians. Another advantage is that when you have guitar, and to a lesser extent bass players who can really work the pedals, and do it live, they expand the options of what could be done live. Great as well because killer studio work can be really well represented live.

FYI - the Dutch shop selling the Hybird pads ran out of them last month. Now they ran out of the Protein pads too. This is slowly winding down now. I am sure the Protein pads can still be bought from Audioquest directly, but I think it will soon be over. I hope my 5 backup pairs (mix of hybrid and protein) will last me as long as the headphones will. :)
