Hi - I have a small nu-force USB dac (powered by the USB connection) - this feeds an external amp.
However - I can't use it on my PC at work - the noise (assuming from mains?) is really noticable, there's no such thing as silence between tracks.
If I use it on my Mac laptop, it's perfect, but only til I plug the charger in, at which point some noise returns, albeit much less than the PC.
Basically can only use it when the Mac has sufficient charge!
So - Would a Jitterbug help with this? or am I barking up the wrong tree?
I was looking at upgrading to a desktop dac such as the Audiolab mdac+, with its own power supply, but I want some reassurance that the issue won't continue!
All thoughts and opinions welcome.
